Dancing with Desire was to Raise

Press Release

(ORMOND BEACH, Florida)    Absolutely Ballroom of Ormond Beach announces a major fundraising event for three local charities. Dancing with Desire: The Grand Competition comes to the News-Journal Center on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

A huge success in north Florida for over ten years, Dancing with Desire will appear in Daytona Beach with an extraordinary dance program featuring international dance celebrities Georgia Ambarian and Eric Luna. Fans of television's Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Superstars of Dance and America's Ballroom Challenge have been thrilled and amazed by their appearances as guest stars. Their worldwide accomplishments include five World Cabaret Championships, five US National Cabaret Championships and the Blackpool invitational Championship. Cabaret dancing features breathtaking routines that tell a story and include spectacular lifts requiring great strength, agility and grace.

Absolutely Ballroom owner Caleb Young says, "I was a part of this extraordinary fundraiser when I lived in Fort Walton Beach and am excited that Georgie and Eric will be part of our local event. It's wonderful to finally bring them to Daytona Beach."

Proceeds from Dancing with Desire: The Grand Competition event will be given to Cinematique, the Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, and Volusia County Schools Performing Arts Programs. Cinematique, in operation for 22 years, brings international, national and local independent films to the area and provides an array of family-focused programs. The Charles and Linda Williams Children's Museum is the only hands-on-science center between Jacksonville and Orlando and houses interactive exhibits that demonstrate various principles of science. Volusia County Schools Performing Arts Programs will receive funding to expand the Volusia County Dance Performance Assessment and dance scholarships for promising young dancers.

Local amateur dancers and professional dance instructors will compete to raise additional funds for these charities. For information about dancing in the event, contact Caleb Young or Mary Gaspary at Absolutely ballroom at 386 492 6399
